FLAMC Press Release September 1, 2018

Press Release – September 1, 2018

We are pleased to announce the formation of Friends of Lake Arrowhead Mountain Communities (FLAMC) which is the combination of MovetheFlightPath.org and Quiet Skies Lake Arrowhead, part of the National Quiet Skies Coalition, www.nqsc.org. The mission of FLAMC is to strategically direct our community resources to compel the FAA to move the flight path.

The FAA recently changed the flight path to allow low level approaches DIRECTLY over Lake Arrowhead and surrounding neighborhoods. For decades the flight path was over Heaps Peak, a mostly uninhabited area of the mountains approximately three and half miles east of the new route. The current amount and frequency of air traffic is expected to increase dramatically in the months and years to come.

Our goal is for the FAA to stop using the new flight path. To accomplish this, we are engaging nationally recognized experts to gather and analyze irrefutable data that can be used to undertake legal and administrative actions which will force the FAA to comply.

Friends of Lake Arrowhead Mountain Communities (FLAMC) is a California nonprofit public benefit corporation in the process of applying for 501(c)(3) status. The Board of Directors consists of Matthew Kallis – President, Anthony St. John – CFO, and David Caine – Secretary, along with a group of community advisors. FLAMC is building upon the efforts initiated by David Caine to engage individuals in the community committed to resolving this issue.

FLAMC cannot do this alone. Scientific studies are needed to document the harm to our environment and legal experts must be engaged to assist us in undertaking effective actions. This effort requires financial support and community involvement. Visit our web site at www.FLAMC.org to stay informed, file a complaint with the FAA, and make a donation to support our efforts. You can also mail your tax‐ deductible contribution to FLAMC, P.O. Box 1744, Lake Arrowhead, CA 92352‐1744.
